Military’s alleged preparation for adult-hood

It’s unfortunate that many think that our military is the foundation of our country. They may have been trained to kill and survive in war time, but they are completely left out in the open as they are let go or released after their tour of duty. We should be ashamed to glorify the armed forces in Hollywood and to our children with action figures. The fact is the military is destroying our youth and our future with fantasies that they will be a hero and live happily after where only the bad guys get hurt. I have always been against our governments actions when it comes to the war time activities. They are destroying the men and woman of our country that are our brave, strong, and intelligent. 1 in 4 homeless served in the military so clearly we are destroying a very large portion of men and woman that are sent to battle over crude oil prices. At what point are we going to step in as a country and say enough is enough and put our foot down and go against the grain by educating our children on the realities of the military and how if you’re planning on joining one of the branches of the military how you are basically being set up for failure, either mentally or physically and probably both. I’m not saying that I’m not proud of the soldiers and surprised by their blind faith that what they are doing is the right thing. I just think that someone needs to stand up and pull down the curtain to show the children the facts of how you may possibly be destroying their life before it even starts.
